The Verdict:
Google Waived $6,400
This is the update everyone has been waiting for. From a $7,000 bill shock to a locked account, this is the resolution.
Original Bill: $7,133.38 → New Bill: $718.99
Words can't express the relief. Google approved my request for a goodwill credit, waiving over $6,400 of the charges. It's a testament that with proper communication and taking responsibility, companies can be understanding.
However, $718.99 is still a significant amount. I requested a formal payment plan, and here was their response:
"Please be informed that we don’t have an installment payment option. However, you may use the manual payment feature... kindly note that your account may be suspended."
Basically, I can pay in increments, but my account remains suspended until fully paid. That is my current challenge.
Lessons Learned
Communication
Don't be afraid to ask. If I hadn't reached out to support immediately, I would be facing an impossible bill.
Professionalism
Being polite and grateful, especially after receiving credit, opens doors for further negotiation.
System Knowledge
Even with "unofficial" agreements, automated systems can still suspend you. Always understand the full process.
Maraming salamat sa lahat ng sumubaybay. The biggest battle is over. It's time to get back online—wiser and safer.
